Bingo as we know it today, is one of the most popular games worldwide. Although, it is interesting to know how bingo becomes so famous. So, here’s a short story:

Early life of bingo:

Bingo is a direct descendant of Lo Giuoco del Lotto d’Italia from Italy. The games was played very often and there were various tournaments held in the country. The games slowly reached other parts of the and came to be known with different names, the popular one being Beano.

Later, in the late 1920s, a slaesman called Edwin S. Lowe, drove to Georgia where on the way he discovered a place with bright lights, upon visiting he discovered it was a carnival and that’s when he was first introduced to the game Beano. Soon after his return to New York, Lowe decided to play the game with his friends. One of his friends yelled out “Bingo” instead of “Beano” in excitement and ever since the game is called as bingo.

Later, with the rising popularity of the game, Lowe hired a mathematician to help increase and find more possibilities and the number of combination in bingo cards.

He finally discovered more than 6000 combinations and grew his business by producing the best bingo cards in the world. He even started his own company names Yatchzee which was later sold to Milton Bradley for $26 million.

Today, bingo has grown much. Ever since bingo hit the web, players have gone crazy and are enjoying the games even more. No matter if its play bingo for money or free there is equal number of participation. Now you can find many variants of bingo games to play online.
